Carey Jungle Explorers - By Carey Baptist Church
A group for 18mths-4 year olds and their parents and carers. Join us for craft, singing, a snack and a short story from the Bible. Lots of toys are available to play with. All are welcome and parents with many different languages attend. A waiting list runs, but please come and visit or email us to find out more. Free parking available. Jungle Explorers is the name given to our parent/carers and children’s group for those aged 18 months to preschool/school age.
We provide a friendly, safe environment with a wide range of toys, equipment and activities.
In each session we start with activities in different zones which children will be free to move between. There is also a chillout area/zone for those who need quieter activities.
After a while of playing, everyone moves to a smaller hall for drinks and snacks. After 10-15 minutes, we have a song time with our in-house musician Nigel and children are free to use instruments or other sensory aids which are provided. We finish at 11:30am with our fabulous Goodbye Song!

The Mums and Babies Yoga sessions at The MERL are run with our partners Sport in Mind, the UK’s leading mental health sports charity, based in Reading. The sessions are designed to support positive mental health through yoga and movement for mums and babies under 1 year.

Rhymetimes are group sessions for babies and young children from 0 - 5 years and their parents and carers. They are fun, free, interactive sessions in libraries that last 30 minutes and bring adults and children together in a safe and supportive environment.
Rhymetimes involve a mix of songs and rhymes and repetition of these supports language and literacy development. Through rhymes children naturally learn essential skills for communicating such as turn-taking and joining in. Rhymes are also portable playthings – they can be said or sung at any time, any place!
